AON 7s Rugby
The AON 7s Program was designed to create a women's 7s team to represent Victoria on the national stage.
Many players went on to play at state and international level, in both 7s and 15s rugby.
It created a pathway for players from different sporting backgrounds to develop Rugby 7s skills, with most players staying in the game.

It was renamed to UniSport Rugby 7s after COVID.

Melbourne University were silver medallists in 2022, in only the fourth season since the team was established in 2018.

In 2018, only one player (Tangata Tupou) had played Rugby 7s before, with all other players coming from touch rugby, athletics or other sports. That season we lost every game, with only a few tries scored.

Four seasons later, we won the silver medal.
The inaugural team produced four players who went on to represent their state, and play rugby internationally
(Annie Buntine, Halley Derera, Tangata "Ta" Tupou and Amy Williams).
Since then, the team has included Olympic Medallists, Wallaroos and Super Rugby players.
