Melbourne University Rugby 7s
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
The Melbourne University Aon 7s Development program is about:
-Creating a women's 7's team to represent Victoria on the national stage.
-Providing a program for female athletes from different sporting backgrounds including Rugby Union, Rugby League, Touch Rugby, Australian Rules Football, Athletics, Soccer and Netball develop Rugby 7s skills.
The program is sponsored by Melbourne University and the Melbourne University Rugby Club.
The program is for all female athletes that are wanting to compete in an elite program to develop skills, knowledge, and mindset to compete on a National level against the best 7s players in Australia.
We are also trying to encourage our players to consider studying, and there are options available to look at courses for educational learning.
The program will select a group of 24 players to progress in the program to eventually train and play tournaments.

Scott is passionate about core skills and running sessions that create confidence in players to allow them to make their own on-field decisions and back themselves.

Sammy Monoghan
Team Manager
Sammi has a passion for women’s sport and providing opportunities for participation and leadership, whilst developing young and new players looking to learn the game.

Ben Sanders
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Ben is passionate about progressing athletes to the next level getting the most out of them physical and mentally to help develop their on field game.
